Here's something the art world doesn't put on the museum placard: a lot of famous paintings weren't painted entirely by the famous painter.

Take Kehinde Wiley, the artist behind President Obama's official portrait. Since 2006, Wiley has run a studio in Beijing where trained assistants help with the brushwork on his large, richly patterned canvases. Wiley sets the vision, picks the subjects, designs the compositions and signs off on the finished piece. Other skilled hands do much of the painting.

What's happening with AI in marketing right now is a not new story. It's the same story, wearing a different decade's clothes.
